Coronary Artery Disease

WHAT CAUSES CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE?
Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) also called Coronary Heart Disease (CHD), is often caused by the buildup of a waxy substance called plaque, inside the lining of the coronary arteries. The buildup of plaque will partially or totally block blood flow in the coronary arteries of the heart, reducing the blood flow into the heart (Myocardial Ischemia). As a result, heart muscles do not receive enough oxygen, and its ability to pump blood is reduced. Uncontrolled CAD will result in severe obstruction of the blood supply and damage the heart muscle tissues (Myocardial Infarction), leading to a 'heart attack'.
CAD is the most common type of heart disease. According to WHO research, CAD is also the leading cause of death across the globe, and was estimated to have caused 10 million deaths in 2016.
OUR SOLUTIONS TO THE DISEASE.
Comprehensive solution for the diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias 3f Medical co-operates with Mircoport for FireMagic™ 3D irrigated ablation catheter, combined with Columbus™ 3D EP Navigation System, provides physicians with a comprehensive solution for the diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias. It helps physicians effectively maneuver the ablation catheter in the body during procedures by providing precise location of the catheter curve in the body and collecting cardiac ECG signals

NEXT STEPS.
In recent years, as a new type of sensor with obvious advantages, optical fiber sensors have been applied in various high, precise and sharp fields. Especially in the medical field, optical fiber sensors provide a brand-new method for the treatment of diseases due to their compactness, precision, anti-electromagnetic interference and biological applicability.

The combination of fiber optic sensors and minimally invasive technology has promoted the further development of modern medicine. 3F Medical is a typical enterprise that applies optical fiber sensing technology to minimally invasive interventional therapy. It is positioning itself as a "precise physiological detection solution and service provider based on micro-optical fiber and MEMS technology.

3F Medical is working on the micro-fiber FFR system (Fractional Flow Reserve) for coronary artery diseases, which is its "steppingstone" to open the medical market.

The so-called FFR blood flow reserve score is a functional index for evaluating coronary artery stenosis lesions. It is a kind of cardiovascular medicine used to determine whether the borderline coronary artery stenosis lesions require interventional surgery (PCI, such as: heart stents, etc.) Important means.

The FFR system can functionally evaluate the state of myocardium, as well as the necessity of preoperative evaluation, intraoperative monitoring, and postoperative evaluation of surgical results. The system uses the pressure guide wire to measure FFR, which is a very effective auxiliary tool for coronary angiography and can make the most beneficial treatment plan for the patient.

An FFR system consists of two parts: pressure guide wire (pressure sensor, guide wire) and data processing system (terminal display device).
